Selective Focus! Selective Focus! The Arlberg in Photographs
Ehxibition Opening
Four major themes are presented in the exhibition:
ARTISTIC APPROACHES! How do photographers see the Arlberg? The
approaches range from the initial admiration of the natural
landscape to the conquest of nature by man to critical questions
about the destruction of the landscape.
SALE! This has probablybeen a very important motivation for many photographers
since the beginning of photography of which the postcard is a
visible expression.
DOCUMENTING! Construction sites, capricious weather,
disasters, but also award ceremonies, celebrations and much
more are captured by photographers and stored in archives.
REMEMBER! The photo as a carrier of memory: What does a
photo mean to each and every one of us? What memories
are attached to them? To what extent can private memories
be interesting for the general public?
